On February 2, 2017, diplomats from the Netherlands Representative Office in Ramallah met with senior officials from a Palestinian NGO, Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC), to sign an $11.5 million grant agreement.
The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights condemned Israel in a statement (June 24), purporting to be based on “PCHR’s investigations and eyewitnesses’ testimonies.” However, PCHR’s account is rife with falsehoods. Crucially, key elements were obviously contradicted by security camera footage published by the Israel Police later that day. This episode exemplifies the unreliability of agenda-driven NGO reports and claims of “eyewitness testimony.”
In June 2020, NGO Monitor sent a letter to Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Blok regarding a Dutch government grantee that is linked to a terrorist organization.
In 2011-2018, the EU authorized grants of at least €25 million to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with ties to EU-designated terrorist groups.
In 2011-2017, the EU provided €18.3 million to projects involving Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC), a non-governmental organization (NGO) linked to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
According to the report the “response plan” from UN-OCHA includes projects with terror-linked NGOs, as well as for non-emergency advocacy.
In May 2020, Oxfam released a “briefing note” on “Violence and impunity in the West Bank during the COVID-19 pandemic.” In reality, Oxfam took pre-existing, misleading, distorted, outdated, and sloppy research, and artificially relabeled it “COVID-19 and annexation” in order to push a BDS (boycotts, divestment, and sanctions) agenda.
Multiple PNGO officials have ties to terrorist organizations, and at least five PNGO members have ties to EU-designated terror organizations, including through their employees and/or board members who are directly involved in activities and programs.
During a May 19, 2020 meeting of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET), Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi stated that he had instructed the heads of EU delegations to Israel and West Bank/ Gaza to “look deep” in to the allegations that some EU funds go to terror-linked or -supporting NGOs, declaring that such funding “will not be tolerated.”
On April 20, 2020, the Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC) published a “fact sheet” that promotes numerous allegations originating with Israeli and Palestinian NGOs which have been proven false, or are simply outdated.
