Sabeel applies “liberation theology,” claims that Palestinians represent a modern-day version of Jesus’ suffering. This includes deicide imagery, and supercessionist rhetoric used to demonize Israel and Judaism.
Sabeel Colorado, a branch of the pro-BDS NGO Sabeel, is currently promoting its upcoming trip to Israel, which will meet with several Israeli NGOs.
On August 11, 2016, the Evangelical Lutheran Church betrayed tits stated goals by adopting resolutions calling on the U.S. government to end all aid to Israel, and embracing BDS (boycotts, divestment, sanctions) tactics.
The revised report is the same tainted wine in a new bottle. Though some of the more hurtful language was removed from the main body of the report, much of its original offensive theology and ideology remains.
Sabeel attempted to galvanize support for the pro-BDS Kairos Palestine document at a Protestant Churches of the Netherlands (PKN) conference. Instead, leading voices within the Church criticized Sabeel.
