On May 31, 2022, Palestinian NGO Al-Haq, along with 90 co-signatories, submitted a flagrantly antisemitic report to the UN's permanent Commission of Inquiry presenting a blatantly false historical account, denying Israel’s right to exist and denying the Jewish people their right to sovereign equality.
The 50th Session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), held in June 2022, perpetuated the bias and hypocrisy that has come to define the UNHRC specifically and the United Nations in general. Several statements made during the session by NGO officials, many of which receive large portions of their funding from European governments, promoted the apartheid canard and advocated for BDS.
On May 11, 2022, Al-Jazeera reporter Shireen Abu Akleh was killed during clashes between Israeli troops and Palestinian gunmen in the West Bank. Predictably, the same chorus of NGOs that claim any Israeli use of force is a war crime, immediately accused Israel of killing the journalist, amplifying the PA’s position that the incident demanded an ICC investigation, while calling for more BDS measures.
On April 29, Human Rights Watch announced the appointment of longtime anti-Israel campaigner Sari Bashi to the position of program director, where she will be responsible for HRW’s research and investigations.

While CAFOD does not list NGO grantees in its financial documents, NGO Monitor research reveals that grants have been provided to a number of highly biased and politicized NGOs active in the Arab-Israeli conflict.
On March 9, 2022, France’s Minister of Interior Gérald Darmanin announced the dissolution of Collectif Palestine Vaincra (CPV), an anti-Zionist group linked to the EU-designated Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terror group.
Anti-Israel NGOs and activists appropriated the war in Ukraine to further their own agendas and to promote demonization, in the form of BDS and other attacks on Israel.
NGO Monitor responded the 22 November 2021 letter authored by UN Special Rapporteur Michael Lynk to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), “Responsible Investments – UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights Investments in the Israeli settlement economy.” This response corrects multiple misrepresentations made by Lynk in his letter, relating to business and human rights in conflict zones and the UN Human Rights Council “database”.
