Since Hamas’ October 7th massacre, PYM has been organizing demonstrations, rallies, and student encampments across the United States and Canada, accusing Israel of “genocide.”
On October 7, 2023 (which was the Sabbath and a Jewish holiday), thousands of Palestinian terrorists poured across the border from Gaza into Israel, slaughtering 1200 people, torturing and maiming thousands, and kidnapping more than 200. Gaza Palestinians also engaged in public desecration of victims’ bodies. In parallel, thousands of rockets were fired at Israeli population centers, sending millions rushing to shelters.
Every one of these attacks constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian and human rights laws.

On May 20, 2024, Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Karim Khan announced that he was seeking arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant, alongside three Hamas leaders. International, Palestinian, and Israeli NGOs celebrated the decision, demonizing Israel with allegations of “apartheid” and “crimes against humanity.”
Importantly, as part of the NGO Durban Declaration and accompanying BDS campaigns, advocacy organizations have sought to turn the ICC into a court of universal jurisdiction. Like their exploitation of the UN and other international frameworks, these NGOs seek to use the ICC for demonization and to brand Israeli officials as “war criminals.”

Khan alleged that both “bear criminal responsibility” for the war crime of “starvation of civilians as a method of warfare.” Many anti-Israel NGOs initiated the “starvation as a weapon” narrative immediately following Hamas’ brutal assault on October 7.

Professor Gerald M Steinberg discusses the web of NGOs with terror connections that are funding and organizing the protests.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) – which participated in the October 7th atrocities and is designated as a terrorist group by the US, Canada, the EU, and Israel – has had a strong presence at encampments, demonstrations, and riots on American college campuses. In addition, Samidoun, an NGO designated by Israel as a terrorist group and a “subsidiary” of the PFLP, can be seen on posters promoting the PFLP, and its officials have preached “resistance” (code for terrorism) at campus events
