NGO Monitor President Professor Gerald Steinberg writes a letter to CUNYLaw regarding its join UN submission with Defense for Children International - Palestine (DCI-P), an NGO closely linked to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
Despite Defense for Children International - Palestine's claims that the Great March of Return is a series of “protests” led by “civilians,” the actual evidence provided in their documentation proves otherwise.
Most NGOs and NGO officials have completely ignored the over 400 rockets and missiles fired at Israel. The few that have commented have exclusively focused on demonizing Israel.
At the 390th meeting of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian on July 23, 2018, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein made many highly biased statements echoing the offensive language and false claims of politicized NGOs.
On June 28, 2018, The Daily Telegraph (Australia) ran an exclusive article on how the Australian government will audit “taxpayer funds [that] are being funnelled to a Palestinian aid organisation that has employed and supported a leader of a terrorist group in Gaza.”
On May 15, 2018, Adalah and seven other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) sent a letter to US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo to “Investigate Israel’s Use of Lethal Force in Gaza and Halt Foreign Assistance to Israeli Military Units.” The letter adopts a BDS (boycott, divestments, and sanctions) agenda against Israel, in stark contrast to the signatories’ donors’ policies.
On April 30, the Israeli Supreme Court held a hearing on two petitions from NGOs claiming that Israel’s responses to violence along the Gaza border are illegal and demanding that the Court prohibit the use of live ammunition by the IDF.
Following the “March of Return” protests that took place along Gaza’s border with Israel on March 30, 2018, numerous human rights non-governmental organizations (NGOs) took to social media to condemn Israel – neglecting the context and role that terrorist organizations like Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) played in organizing the event.
