[Excerpts]
On October 7, 2023, six thousand Palestinian terrorists poured across the border from Gaza into Israel, slaughtering 1200 people, torturing and maiming thousands, including 36 children who were butchered and burned alive in their homes. These Palestinian attackers murdered and raped 360 young people at the Nova music festival. Hamas, and other terrorist groups, also took hostage and tortured more than 250 individuals, including Holocaust survivors, the elderly, women, and children. The Bibas children, a baby and a 4 year old bo,y are still being held captive. Simultaneously, Hamas, the PFLP, and Islamic Jihad launched thousands of rockets at Israeli population centers, threatening millions of civilians.
Every one of these attacks constitutes blatant violations of international humanitarian and human rights laws, including genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, torture, which should have brought immediate and on-going condemnation from the human rights community. Instead, UN Special Experts, UN member states, and NGOs that routinely and forcefully condemn Israel blamed the victims, whitewashed the terrorists, and exploited the attacks to repeat the campaign accusing Israel of “apartheid”, “starvation”, “genocide”, and other lies.
This debased rhetoric reflects an immoral agenda that directly contradicts the human rights mandate that their government funder-enablers like South Africa, Norway, Belgium, Spain, and Ireland self-righteously claim to promote.
Moreover, countries and UN bodies, notably Iran and UNRWA, have provided material support for Hamas, providing military training and planning, smuggling weapons, participating in the October 7 atrocities, holding Israeli captives, and concealing tunnels and other aid diversion. Qatar and Turkey fund Hamas terrorism and harbor Hamas leaders. Officials from these countries and UN agencies must be subject to international sanctions and prosecuted for participating in and/or aiding and abetting international crimes.
