This report documents MSF’s internal staff conversations and culture regarding Israel and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the personal experiences of Jewish staff members within the organization
On June 13, 2026, The Lancet medical journal (UK) published an article headlined “Petition calls for boycott of Israeli Medical Association,” thereby greatly amplifying the blatantly political campaign led by a group of fringe activist NGOs – the People’s Health Movement (PHM), in partnership with the Dutch-based Artsen voor Gaza (Doctors for Gaza) and the Health Advisory Council of Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP).
In this report, we examine the role of MSF in the campaign, and the organization’s impact, reflecting the influence it carries in the medical, political, journalistic, scientific, and academic arenas.
HEAL Palestine, founded in January 2024, is a US-based 501c3 charity. It claims to provide humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in Gaza, as well as facilitate travel to the US from Gaza for medical treatment.
Hamas ministry documents, dated February and March 2020, detail Hamas’ strategy of embedding its military infrastructure, fighters, and leadership within hospitals and medical facilities in Gaza, blatantly violating international law and endangering civilian lives.
On November 21, 2023, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) claimed that three doctors were killed as a result of a strike that hit Al-Awda hospital in Gaza.
As shown by MSF’s political campaigns since the brutal Hamas October 7 massacre, its stated commitment to the principles of “neutrality and impartiality” do not extend to Israel.
There is one network that has constantly denied Hamas' exploitation of Al-Shifa and other hospitals in Gaza -- the influential community of ostensible human rights NGOs, humanitarian aid organizations, and their UN agency partners.
