On September 15, 2020, Israel signed separate historic agreements with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain, establishing formal diplomatic relations and recognition between the countries. Following the announcement of the UAE agreement in August, a number of NGOs, which purport to promote universal human rights, have decried and condemned the contribution to peace.
In July-August 2020, Jewish Voice for Peace – Boston and BADIL held a series of webinars on aimed at “raising awareness in the USA…on the current obstacles and challenges facing the Palestinian people in their struggle for liberation.” Topics included annexation, President Trump’s “peace plan,” “Segregation, Fragmentation and Isolation,” and conditional funding.
While a number of UAWC supporters have attempted to cast doubt on Samer Arbid's membership in the PFLP terror group and involvement in the August 2019 attack, on August 30, 2020, the PFLP issued a condolence note in memory of Arbid's mother, referring to Arbid a "prisoner and commander," and "one of the heroes of the Bubeen operation" -- referring to the August 2019 bombing.
In August 2020, NGO Monitor sent a letter to the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding Spanish funding to terror linked Palestinian NGOs.
In August 2020, NGO Monitor sent a letter to the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding Norwegian funding to terror linked Palestinian NGOs.
In August 2020, NGO Monitor sent a letter to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding Italian funding to terror linked Palestinian NGOs.
In August 2020, NGO Monitor sent a letter to the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding Belgian funding to terror linked Palestinian NGOs.
On July 20, 2020, the Dutch government announced that it was suspending funding to the Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) over links to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). In response to the Dutch announcement, UAWC issued a statement attempting to deflect the serious allegations.
In July 2020, NGO Monitor sent a letter to the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding Canadian funding to terror linked Palestinian NGOs.
On February 2, 2017, diplomats from the Netherlands Representative Office in Ramallah met with senior officials from a Palestinian NGO, Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC), to sign an $11.5 million grant agreement.
