None of these groups condemned the rocket attacks from Gaza - each one a war crime - targeting Israeli civilians, which had intensified in the week before and triggered the Israeli response. Updated November 22, 2012
The United Nations Human Rights Council adopted a resolution calling for independent international fact-finding mission...to investigate the implications of the Israeli settlements. NGOs, including Al Haq, lobbied for this investigation, reflecting their role in political warfare.
The only geographical or conflict-related working group in EMHRN is the Working Group on Palestine/Israel and Palestinians focusing on Israel and the Palestinian Authority, which allows for disproportionate allegations targeting Israel.
The new law requires the consent of the Director of Public Prosecutions before an arrest warrant is issued for a privately-instigated prosecution in which universal jurisdiction offenses have allegedly occurred.
Many of the grantees actively oppose the compromises necessary for a peace agreement, and engage in anti-Israel campaigns such as BDS (boycotts, divestment, and sanctions) and legal cases against Israeli officials and businesses.
In addition to misrepresenting UN General Assembly Resolution 194, which does not mandate a wholesale "right of return" as alleged, the NGOs completely disregard the Jewish refugees from Arab countries who were driven from their homes following the establishment of the State of Israel.
