From the opening moments of the war that began on February 28, 2026, the highly politicized NGO network immediately launched predictable and often absurd condemnations of the U.S. and Israel for ostensible “aggression” and “violations of international law.”
In response to the armed conflict between Iran and Israel in June 2025, a broad network of anti-Israel organizations mobilized through protests, petitions, and direct action.
Instead of condemning Iran’s clear violations of the laws of war (IHL), NGOs have intensified highly partisan calls for arms embargoes against Israel.
October 7, 2024 marked the one-year anniversary of the worst attack against the Jewish people since the Holocaust. However, in sharp contrast, NGOs inverted the atrocities committed against Israelis, and continuing the demonization campaign that falsely portrays Israel’s military response to the attacks as “genocide,” “ethnic cleansing,” and “extermination.”
On the 17 and 18 of September 2024, thousands of handheld pagers and hundreds of walkie-talkie radio communicators belonging to members of Hezbollah exploded simultaneously across Lebanon and Syria, reportedly resulting in 3000 dead or severely injured. Multiple NGOs claiming to promote human rights and international law condemned this action, falsely accusing Israel of responsibility for “unlawful and indiscriminate” attacks, and alleging that they harmed civilians as well as Hezbollah targets.
On August 19-22, the Democratic Party is scheduled to host its convention in Chicago. “March on the DNC” – a loose network of nearly 100 NGOs – intends to protest in Chicago, demanding that Democrats adopt anti-Israel policies.
Many NGOs that claim to promote human rights, humanitarian principles, and international law have condemned Israel for the evacuation warning. This campaign is not only aimed at diverting attention from the barbaric Hamas slaughter of 1,500 Israelis, but also bolsters and enables Hamas.
For years, pro-BDS NGOs, some with links to terror groups, have lobbied Congress against American security assistance to Israel, including Iron Dome and other defensive systems. Although their efforts have failed to impact policy, the NGOs have gained support from high-profile progressive Representatives and garnered media attention for the anti-Israel agenda.
On May 4 and May 5, 2019, Palestinian terror groups in Gaza fired over 600 rockets and mortars toward Israeli population centers, murdering four Israeli civilians. NGOs and NGO officials that claim to promote human rights have ignored the blatant Palestinian violations against Israeli civilians. Some have remained silent altogether, while others have focused exclusively on demonizing Israel for responding to the attacks.
