October 7, 2024 marked the one-year anniversary of the worst attack against the Jewish people since the Holocaust. However, in sharp contrast, NGOs inverted the atrocities committed against Israelis, and continuing the demonization campaign that falsely portrays Israel’s military response to the attacks as “genocide,” “ethnic cleansing,” and “extermination.”
NGOs funded through German development programs (Entwicklungshilfe) with the stated aim to promote “human rights” and “international law” have failed to condemn these blatant violations of human rights and humanitarian principles.
On October 25, 2023, Switzerland Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) announced the suspension of funds to 11 NGOs (6 Palestinian and 5 Israeli) pending “an in-depth analysis of the compliance of these organizations’ communications with the FDFA’s Code of Conduct and anti-discrimination clause, to which external partners are subject.”
NGOs are repeating the accusations that Israel is guilty of even more outrageous and extreme international crimes: genocide and ethnic cleansing.
On October 7, 2023 (which was the Sabbath and a Jewish holiday), hundreds of Palestinian terrorists poured across the border from Gaza into Israel, slaughtering hundreds of Jews, and torturing, maiming, and kidnapping others. Although Palestinian officials are often portrayed as the initiators and leaders, in practice, the campaigns are largely led by officials of Western institutions, including powerful non-governmental organizations (NGOs) active in the areas of human rights, international law, peace, and other normative objectives.
