Alan Goldberg
Alan Goldberg AO QC graduated in law, LLB (Hons) from the University of Melbourne in 1962 and with an LLM degree from Yale University in 1964. He commenced practice as a barrister in Melbourne, Australia in 1965 and was appointed a Queen’s Counsel in 1978. He practiced widely in the commercial, corporate, administrative, constitutional and competition areas of legal practice.
Alan was appointed a Judge of the Federal Court of Australia in February 1997 and retired from that Court in July 2010. Over the years he has held a number of positions, including:
- President, Victorian Council for Civil Liberties
- Director, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra
- President, Australian Competition Tribunal
