NGO Monitor´s Detailed Analysis of "Off the Map": HRW´s Politicized Characterization of the Bedouin Issue in the Middle East May 19, 2008
On March 31, 2008, Human Rights Watch issued a 130-page politically charged report entitled “Off the Map: Land and Housing Rights Violations in Israel’s Unrecognized Bedouin Villages.” NGO Monitor published an initial analysis on April 1, 2008 and has been preparing a detailed analysis of HRW´s claims since then. NGO Monitor’s in-depth review reveals "Off the Map" offers a one-sided view of Israeli property and planning law and of the highly complex Bedouin situation. HRW´s simplification of Israel´s challenges regarding the Bedouin, coupled with the organization´s choice to exclude discussion of the Bedouin in other countries is yet another example of HRW´s continued political goal to demonize Israel. more »

Palestinian Grassroots Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign - PGAAWC
PGAAWC is the only NGO active in the Arab-Israeli conflict which received accreditation during the Durban Review Conference Preparatory Committee meetings, held in Geneva in April 2008. PGAWWC, a network of NGOs, is an active proponent of the Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions campaigns against Israel, which it accuses of “colonialism” and placing Palestinians in “ghettos.” PGAAWC´s founding members include ARIJ, UPMRC and PARC; and its website reflects a close link with PENGON -- an eco-political Palestinian NGO network. more »

That Human Rights Watch exclusively condemns Israel´s Gaza policy (and no other blockade in the world) as "collective punishment"
Human Rights Watch´s (HRW) bias and double standards regarding Israel continued in 2007. Despite a major increase in internal Palestinian violence, including the Hamas takeover of Gaza, HRW´s focus on Israel did not changed significantly. HRW´s strong political agenda is evident in its arbitrary description of Israel´s Gaza policy as "collective punishment" - a detailed analysis of HRW´s publications and statements in 2007 revealed that no other blockade in the world had been characterized as such. more »
